Your Partner in Preventive Health and Long-Term Wellness
At Primary Prevention Center, we believe healthcare can include understanding why a concern is occurring, not simply reacting to symptoms once they become disruptive. Our functional and preventive approach considers how nutrition, physical activity, metabolic health, hormones, gastrointestinal function, sleep, stress, and other aspects of daily life may interact with overall wellness.
Our team bridges conventional clinical care with functional and lifestyle-focused strategies. Depending on your needs, your plan may incorporate laboratory evaluation, nutritional recommendations, body-composition assessment, exercise guidance, hormone-related care, IV therapy, specialty testing, or other supportive strategies.
Why Patients Throughout Bucks County Choose Us
We recognize that improving health often requires more than one appointment or one recommendation. Our approach is built around three principles:
● Root-Cause-Oriented Evaluation: Our team considers underlying contributors that may be associated with concerns such as metabolic dysfunction, gastrointestinal imbalance, hormonal changes, weight challenges, fatigue, and other ongoing wellness concerns.
● Multidisciplinary Support Under One Roof: The Primary Prevention Center team includes Michael Como as practice owner and nurse practitioner, along with registered dietitians, an exercise physiologist, an acupuncturist, a pharmacist, and additional advanced-practice clinical support.
● Personalized and Sustainable Planning: We focus on helping patients understand their health information and make realistic changes that can be integrated into everyday life. Recommendations are individualized instead of relying on identical protocols for every patient.
Meet Our Practice Owner
Michael Como, FNP, CRNP, MSN, CDCES – Practice Owner and Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner
Michael Como is the founder of Primary Prevention Center and a board-certified nurse practitioner. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Villanova University and his master’s degree from La Salle University. His background also includes advanced training in functional medicine and certification as a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist.
After working within traditional healthcare settings, Michael became increasingly interested in understanding why patients developed persistent concerns such as fatigue, weight changes, digestive problems, metabolic dysfunction, and other chronic health challenges. His approach now combines evidence-based functional medicine with nutrition, lifestyle modification, appropriate testing, hormone optimization, and other individualized strategies.
Michael’s goal is to help patients become active participants in their health. Education is a central part of that process, allowing individuals to better understand their biomarkers, lifestyle patterns, and available options while working with our team toward sustainable improvements.
Our Specialized Health and Wellness Experiences
Primary Prevention Center offers a diverse range of services that can be tailored according to a patient’s health priorities and clinical needs.
● Women’s Health and Hormone Support: Personalized evaluation may address concerns associated with perimenopause, hormone changes, thyroid health, sexual wellness, and other aspects of women’s health.
● Men’s Health and Vitality: Our team offers individualized options for men interested in evaluating testosterone, hormonal health, physical performance, body composition, energy, and age-related wellness concerns.
● Medical Weight Management: Personalized weight-management programs may incorporate nutritional guidance, body-composition assessment, lifestyle support, and medically appropriate treatment options when indicated.
● GI Optimization: Digestive wellness evaluations can explore nutrition, gastrointestinal symptoms, lifestyle patterns, and other factors that may influence gut health and overall well-being.
● Longevity and IV Optimization: Available services include IV therapy, NAD+ IV therapy, nutrient-based infusions, biomarker evaluation, and other wellness strategies designed around individual goals.
● Specialty Testing: When clinically appropriate, specialty testing may provide additional information regarding gastrointestinal function, nutritional concerns, hormonal patterns, metabolic health, or other areas that require closer evaluation.
● Nutrition and Dietary Planning: Registered dietitian support and individualized dietary guidance help patients translate health information into realistic eating patterns that can fit their daily lives.
● Exercise and Lifestyle Education: Our multidisciplinary approach can incorporate movement, exercise education, stress management, and sustainable lifestyle changes rather than focusing exclusively on medication or isolated treatments.
