Michael Como earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Villanova University and his Master’s degree from LaSalle University.
Michael Como is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Primary Prevention Center. After working within the traditional healthcare system, he recognized that patients were often treated for symptoms without understanding the root causes, which led him to explore functional medicine.
Michael Como’s mission is to help patients take control of their health before chronic diseases take hold. He strives to provide personalized care, educating patients and partnering with them to build a clear path toward better health, higher energy, and an improved quality of life.
Michael Como focuses on identifying and addressing the underlying causes of disease, such as metabolic dysfunction, inflammation, and gut health imbalances. His goal is to create long-term health improvements by addressing these root causes, rather than simply managing symptoms.
Over time, Michael saw many patients dealing with chronic issues like fatigue, weight gain, and digestive problems without clear solutions. This motivated him to pursue advanced training through the Institute for Functional Medicine, where he learned how nutrition, lifestyle, and root-cause medicine could help transform long-term health outcomes.
Michael Como integrates evidence-based functional medicine with personalized care. This includes advanced diagnostic testing, plant-forward nutrition, targeted supplementation, hormone optimization, and therapies designed to support energy, recovery, and overall performance. His focus is on creating sustainable, long-term changes for his patients.
Michael Como believes many chronic conditions — such as obesity, prediabetes, autoimmune concerns, and fatigue — are early warning signs from the body. When properly addressed, these conditions can often be reversed or significantly improved, rather than being accepted as inevitable.
Yes, Michael Como is accepting new clients.
